Product offer renewed and adapted to the changing needs of travellers

It's all a lot of excitement, the recovery is around the corner and those who have seen the long view have also been able to invest this suspended time to prepare for the restart. We talk about it with Daniela Panetta, Commercial Management for Italy Ergo Travel Insurance. How does the insurance company prepare for the recovery of the tourism market? “ERGO Travel Insurance has never stopped in these months of forced travel calm, and has worked alongside travel agencies and tour operators to provide concrete support to the difficulties of the sector and travelers with services whose use has been necessarily blocked by the pandemic. Now we are ready to restart alongside our partners, with a renewed product offering adapted to the changing needs of travellers, to give them even greater safety and the right attention in case of difficulties linked to the continuing circulation of the virus".

Do you think this period has highlighted shortcomings that can be avoided in the future? “In my opinion, the need has clearly emerged to support the travel service with insurance coverage always and everywhere, even in areas (such as that of 2domestic”) where no one had ever thought about insurance before. Now we have finally realized that - on the contrary - insurance is always useful, and this can only be good for the tourism sector, because it introduces an element of security and tranquility even in an area (i.e. that of tourism in Italy) which will still be the absolute protagonist of the market this summer.”

What will you present at BMT 2021 and how are you tackling the next few months? “We present a renewed Trade platform, rationalized in the product offering, with targeted tariffs and easier navigation and management. Trade has a privileged role, with products offered exclusively to travel agencies (and not available to customers who purchase directly from us), reduced rates, an automatic mechanism that allows commissions to be discounted in the case of customers who wish offer a reduced rate, and ease and speed of issuance... worth trying! The next few months will see us working on a series of important innovations, from the total redesign of the information system, work on which has already started, to the creation of new products on which we are working and for which we intend to open selected "worksites" involving partners who have placed their trust in us in recent months."

What product do you have? is there any news? “All products today include coverage related to covid19 and its various needs, included in the cost of the policy and not subject to any surcharge. This is a very specific political choice, which aims to pass on the concept of an Ergo policy which, if stipulated, guarantees the necessary level of protection based on the destination and the type of trip and traveller. We have added the Annual Multi-Trip product to the offer for travel agencies, which allows you to insure an unlimited number of trips during the year with a single policy, at a particularly convenient cost for those who make at least two/three trips in a year , we know that there is a great desire to travel, and therefore we consider this product particularly interesting from a "restart" perspective.
