BMT puts dreams on display

Three full days from Thursday to Saturday to make exhibitors' investments more productive, also thanks to the presence of a selected audience. We return to the direct relationship between travel agencies and tour operators

Recovery is coming. Will it be true? The operators believe in it and this is demonstrated by the attention shown for the 2015 edition of the BMT - Mediterranean Tourism Exchange scheduled at the Mostra d'Oltremare from 26 to 28 March, where the exhibition spaces were sold out well before the start of work. A fair where many companies will return that in recent years had given up on Naples and many others have chosen to expand the exhibition areas. The operators believe in the recovery and the BMT believes in it, so much so that it has decided to change the opening hours and days formula for the first time, bringing it forward to Thursday as has now become usual for the most important fairs and extending the opening hours third day of work, Saturday, until 6.30 pm to make the exhibitors' investment even more productive.

“By doing so, agencies will also be able to have Saturday to visit BMT and will also be able to invite a selected audience to the fair, chosen by mailings from professionals and entrepreneurs – comments the President of BMT, Angioletto de Negri – The exhibitors themselves will be able to invite the their audience selected through loyal agencies, an opportunity to build customer loyalty and distribute catalogues".

To encourage agencies from all Italian regions to get closer to BMT, Progecta has studied a series of stay packages, created with the collaboration of Trenitalia, Meridiana and GNV.

Here are the protagonists of the 2015 edition
Walking through the corridors of the BMT, virtually for now, we notice that the host countries have also grown. There are many new entries, and among these Bulgaria is prominently present with a substantial commercial and institutional presence and Polynesia with a nice exhibition island. The spaces of Türkiye, Tunisia, the Dominican Republic, Egypt, India and Greece are always large

Among the absolute debuts at the fair, Tahiti Tourisme, Balkan Express and Egypt Air stand out.
More space also for the stands of some large companies including MSC, Alpitour and Best Tour as well as for Naples Airport and the area dedicated to LGBT tourism.

In short, a real showcase, like a large travel agency, where everyone will be protagonists, the tour operator as well as the travel agent, and the possible end customer, in that dream fair that the entire world of tourism knows how to make possible.
To raise awareness of the architectural beauties of the Mostra d'Oltremare of Naples, the possibility of organizing events in the famous Golden Cube was offered, an invitation which was gladly accepted by AirFrance KLM, Transavia, Emirates and Trenitalia who will have the opportunity to bring together the own guests to present the news of the 2015 season.

De Negri: direct intermediation starts again from here
Among the themes of BMT 2015 there will also be the comparison between networks and travel agencies, which in the event of a real recovery, could see the parameters of their relationship change significantly "There is the pleasant risk of a return to the past, with the agencies protagonists of the market. The era of "intermediation of intermediaries" may be coming to an end.

Looking at the numbers, one could already say that the decline of the networks has begun. For agencies in the near future there will only be direct relationships with tour operators who in the meantime have equipped themselves with online, with a predisposition to grant greater profitability and greater attention, concentrating distribution on a smaller number of agencies for better loyalty” comments the President of BMT, Angioletto de Negri.
