BMT 2023 closes with over 15 thousand attendances and exceeds pre-pandemic data. De Negri: “Project conceived 26 years ago is realized: Italy World Tourism Hub”

Napoli, 20 marzo.

“It was exciting to see crowds and queues for accreditation even on the last day of BMT. With this edition, the project that I conceived 26 years ago, when the Mediterranean Tourism Exchange was born, comes to fruition: this year, thanks to BMT, Italy, at the center of the Mediterranean, becomes the world tourism hub, an international exchange platform and dynamism following the path traced by the Minister of Tourism Daniela Santanchè. The Minister was present at the BMT on the day of the inauguration despite the commitment in the Council of Ministers: the discussion with the operators is fundamental and the Minister also confirmed that he will listen to the world of tourism", comments the patron of Progecta Angioletto de Negri.

“This is an important fair for the Mediterranean, for tourism, for operators. It is a fair - highlights the Minister of Tourism Daniela Santanchè - which has been taking place for 26 years, has very important numbers and above all focuses on the Mediterranean, which for us is an extraordinary and unique opportunity. We must help the South which has extraordinary beauties and still potential that are not expressed and, therefore, the Ministry of Tourism is available and every time there are such important events that impact tourism I am present. This means that there is great attention."

“I am proud – adds de Negri – to have brought a large parade of Regions to BMT, to which two pavilions were dedicated, experiencing an important presence of operators. An expansion of the Regions is already planned for 2024 and we hope that the Campania Region will also be able to return to expanding its spaces and investments. In fact, no Region has reduced its budget, but rather has expanded it, with the exception of Campania: we hope that this was determined exclusively by budgetary needs and that in 2024 we can return to the standards of previous years, a choice that would benefit tourism, Italy and obviously Campania, given that we are the hosts".

“We are very happy to actively participate this year in the BMT which – underlines the Tourism Councilor of the Municipality of Naples, Teresa Armato – is a significant reference for tourism and for the business world that revolves around this sector , crucial for the development of Italy, Campania and Naples".

“I believe that tourism is the most important industry in the Campania Region – underlines Tourism Councilor Felice Casucci – without taking anything away from the others which produce individually higher numbers, but tourism is such a widespread productive reality, so present on the territories which constitute the most significant industry on which to build the development of Campania in the next 100 years".

“We are present at BMT, a very important fair, which finally sees – explains Pier Ezhaya, president of Astoi – the restart of tourism at the right speed. BMT also testifies to the importance of the territory, a fair that also seeks to go beyond the borders of the Mediterranean and has almost now become a national level fair as evidenced by the many Regions present at the event".

“BMT is an event – says Domenico Pellegrino, Aidit president – that we have been following since the beginning. This edition, the 26th, is special because it marks the moment of the true restart of tourism as we knew it before the pandemic".

Finally, Angioletto de Negri underlines the "great success of the workshop area, with a crowding of the Italian B2B offer and with a conference sector that is once again expanding: this year we hosted, among the most well-known brands, also Suzuki, Bauli, Sperlari, Parmalat”. To conclude, the novelty of 2023: the opening of BMT to the public on Saturday. “It happens for the first time at BMT, the only fair in the world organized by those who have been involved in tourism for almost 50 years. And every intuition at BMT is on target: an opening to the public by invitation is our idea to push the final consumer to get to know the brands before booking in travel agencies, which are indispensable partners".
